I just discovered an interesting use for my iPod. I own a Nordic Track treadmill that uses something called iFit to download workout programs. These are in the form of a real player playlist that contains sound bytes that "program" the threadmill to effect an action, e.i. 4.5 mph at 2.5 inclination, etc.
I realized I can create exercise programs in iTunes by downloading the soundbytes, creating a custom playlist, and uploading the playlist to the iPod to then drive the threadmill.
I would use the workout programs at iFit.com, except for the fact they only work in windows and internet exploder....
Cheers,

That's The Woz, you troll...
Re: iPod Controls Exercise Machines
That is a bit tricky and you have to use PC. If you login to the ifit.com site, go to their basic workout area and play a workout you will the soundbytes on the temporary internet items folder of windows. They are labeled in the format 25_15 meaning 2.5 mph and 1.5 inclination.
I bet iFit is not to keen on downloading their soundbytes. That is why I did not include this on the news.
An enterprising programmer could make a n iFit soundbyte generator. Maybe iFit should make and sell one.
