Robbie Williams: iPod Amazing

On Britain’s BBC Radio 1 on Friday morning Robbie Williams was being interviewed by DJ Sara Cox in the studio. Responding to a series of questions submitted by listeners, Williams noticeably ‘perked up’ and became animated and enthusiastic when talking about the Apple iPod.

Sara Cox: “Nicole in South Australia asks ‘What’s your favourite CD that you’ve got on your stereo at the moment?’ Bit of a favourite question, this one.

Robbie Williams: What I’ve got at the minute, and we can talk about this, is….. Have you got iTunes on your computer?

Sara Cox: No

Robbie Williams: Go and get iTunes on your computer and download all your favourite CDs…. I don’t mean download actually from the internet, ‘cos that would be illegal. Get your CDs that you own and put them in and you can get these things, called an iPod, and you have, well….

I’ve got three and a half thousand songs on this little white box that I put in my car and play it and it’s amazing! So to say what CDs I’m listening to at the minute, I’ve got, well there’s loads and loads and loads!

Another GMichael album (mini, really) is the "FIVE LIVE" with Queen and Lisa Stansfield (another Brit that is toooo talented.

If there was any person who could front QUEEN other than Freddy, it would be Michael. Though, Freddy could NEVER be replaced. Never EVER.

Re: Robbie Williams: iPod Amazing

I listed him BECAUSE of his Royal talent... just as I listed the whole lot of British megastars... I am with you. GM is brilliant. I have loved him ever since went solo (and a couple of his WHAM! songs, too)

"Last Christmas"... what a cool little Christmas/Love song!

Re: Robbie Williams: iPod Amazing

George Michael... talk about humor..

The US has Britney Spears, I'd like to see the Brits bust out talent like that!

Re: Robbie Williams: iPod Amazing

The Bealtes, The Who, The Stones, Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, Clapton, Elton John, George Michael, Queen... you have no reason to appologize for your humor... it's truth.

That comes from a guy born and raised in the US.

Of course, a lot of those I mentioned are older bands and musicians who would tell you that it was US music that inspired them in the first place... Elvis and the R&B acts of 50s and 60s.

Maybe it's a wave of influence that travels back and forth. But England certainly is, in my opinion, the leader in the music it's given the world.

But, then the US can always lay claim to Detroit's own KISS!

(Now, THAT's 'humor'!)

Re: Robbie Williams: iPod Amazing

Robbie may or may not be well known in the USA. He clearly doesn't give two hoots about that, since he enjoys a huge level of success over here, and is a household name and immediately recognisable face. Surprisingly to me (I don't really enjoy his stuff that much) he also enjoys a degree of credibility and respect.

But then Jimi Hendrix was still an unknown in the USA when he was topping the bill over here. Can we Brits help it if the USA follows our musical trends.... (that's 'humor', by the way, so don't get cross!)

Educate the Masses!

It's great that people (famous or unknown) or helping to spread the word about Apple and its products. But even with all the SWITCH commercials and exposure it's getting, I still talk with people all the time who have never seen (or don't remember seeing) THE APPLE SWITCH commericals...

How, I don't know. I see them several times a night it seems. It's probably because people aren't in the market for computers and they just kind of tune out during stuff that they don't plan on buying in the near future.
