Well, we've tried out the new Belkin Media Reader for iPod. It supports CompactFlash (Type 1 and 2,) SmartMedia, Secure Digital (SD,) Memory Stick, and MultiMediaCard (MMC) media and connects to Docking iPods via the Dock Connector. The Media Reader measures 3 3/8 x 4 7/8 x 13/16 in. (W x H x D) and requires 4 AAA batteries (included.) There is a small door for the battery compartment, a sliding door for the media slots and the Dock Connector, which tucks away into the housing, has a inch-and-a-half cable.
We snapped a few quick pictures on a SmartMedia card, downloaded the images to iPod and then plugged iPod into a PowerBook. Read on...

Re: First Look: Belkin Media Reader For iPod
Has anybody had any luck using the Belkin Media Reader to transfer voice files written to Memory Stick on a Sony Digital Voice Recorder? I have no trouble with (slowly) transferring photos and video files from a digicam, but the iPod doesn't recognize the card when it comes from a voice recorder.
As an experiment I used my PC to put some MSV voice files on a Memory Stick ( in the DCIM directory created by the digicam). No problem; Belkin/iPod recognized the card and transferred the MSV files to the iPod along with the photo files present.
It looks to me like Sony/Belkin didn't give us a 'Media Reader', but a 'DCIM Directory Reader'.
